Brain Dead | Snowy New York | The 1975 |

Due to my lack of outfit posts throughout these past few weeks (my apologises), I have decided to make a post to let you guys know I'm alive and still blogging-ready! The only problem I have is outfit block. I feel like every outfit I create is nothing special and since I won't let anything on my blog that isn't at it's highest, viola! There has been nothing. My brain is drained and empty. Holiday season really kills if you ask me. Thinking..about presents..for other people…hello?! That does not sound like fun. But I have to admit that actually purchasing them and seeing the joy they bring to friends and family really pays off. Not in the money sense but in all that emotional bullshit and what not. New York gets crazy cold around this time of year which really sucks. Sure, I love chilly days where I can snuggle up alone in my bed and watch Sex and The City. However, this calls for my least favorite thing, snow. Snow is the worst unless it's Christmas or you have no where to be. Last Saturday, I was meant to be in the city to meet up with fellow blogging friends but alas, the snow hates me and wants me to have no friends. I was not able to make it because it was really dangerous out and I was not in the mood to risk my life that day. Now Tuesday, I was totally in the mood to risk my life. Me, my friend Nicole and both my parents to be exact. I'd been planning on attending The 1975 concert at Webster Hall on December 17th. Of course, me thinking I was aloud to have a life, it just had to snow. And I'm not talking a simple, white, fluffy overlay of pretty-ness. I'm talking ice-y, salty, hard snow, scary roads and other blizzard like features. My parents, being the coolest people ever still attempted to take me into the city. We were sliding all over the place and at one point we went backwards down a hill because my car couldn't make it up. All in all, I finally arrived at the concert and met my two good friends Devi and Annie. Devi is a fellow New Yorker and Annie was visiting with her friend Tori from Texas. It was such a cool experience to see the girls I've been talking to for the last year through Tumblr and texting! We danced our asses off at the concert and had the most amazing time, despite some annoying, elbows hitting us in the face-dancing type. I discovered The 1975 through friends and Youtube. Fell in love immediately. It's the right amount of meaningful lyrics but also with a touch of "I want to jam in my car and dance to this" kind of sound. I can't even tell you my favorite song because the whole album is brilliant. Matty, the singer, was such a good performer and just really got the crowd going. The whole band is amazingly talented. Towards the end of the concert we talked about trying to meet them. Matty came out to the top of the venue and was taking pictures with fans and etc. I was two feet from him listening to his perfect accent saying nice things to fans such as thanks for coming out, love you too, blah blah. But as soon as he was about to come to us, my parents were calling me worrying about where I was and why I still wasn't out of the concert even though it ended 20 minutes ago. So I had to race down the stairs with my friend and get to my parents before they had a heart attack. I didn't get to say goodbye to my friends and worst of all, I never got to meet Matty. What a Cinderella moment, let me tell you. Although it was an amazing time, hanging out with my friends and dancing until midnight, it would have been cool as fuck to meet Matty. Better luck next time!
Here's some pictures I took from the concert...

Trendy for fall | Trench Coat

Sadly, my favorite season is almost over. I love fall fashion and all the activities you get to do with friends and family. Mostly, this fall I have been very lazy. I would usually just chuck on a sweater and a scarf and I'd be done. This killer combo was perfect for the chilly, crisp weather. However, there were those days when I thought to myself "Omg it's raining what do I wear?!" This autumn was notorious for rain here in NY! Last spring, I invested in this very "sophisticated" coat from NastyGal. I adore this trench! It keeps me dry from the rainfall but helps me fashionable whilst doing it. I can't wait to get rain boots to pair with this. I'll be all ready to jump around in puddles and dance in the rain!

Dylan Lex Neck |

Last week, one of my favorite bloggers ( Danielle from WeWoreWhat) introduced me to Dylan Lex Neck on Intsagram! I immediately fell in love with her badass, edgy pieces. They're just the right accessory to make an outfit dressier or edgier. I paired it with simple H&M slacks and sleek cutout booties from Forever 21, that by the way I have been DYING over! I'm also a sucker for a simple clutch bag with a pop of color. Who doesn't love Zara handbags anyways? This look works for anything from a concert, to an office event or even the holidays!

Waffle Knit |

As soon as the A|W season rolls around, I make sure I've stocked up on comfy sweaters and cozy scarves. Scarves, for me, are that missing piece of a plain outfit. They just add a little something something. A black scarf is a must have for the colder weather. It matches everything. Paired with my newest ASOS sweater that I'm fawning over. It's super warm and soft. I decided to dress this look up with my favorite pair of heeled boots from Topshop. I got these boots last year on sale for 50$ and they still look brand new! A pair of boots, a scarf, and a sweater is my go-to outfit this Autumn.

Topshop Review | Jamie Jeans

Around a month and a half ago, I had the experience of using a personal shopper at Topshop in Soho, NY. I always hear bloggers and friends raving about the Topshop "Leigh Jeans" and the "Joni Jeans." When I arrived to Topshop, the first place I went looking was in the denim section! I knew right away that I wanted a good pair of jeans and these pairs are a little pricey, but I was more than willing to spend it on good quality ones. My body isn't the most perfect body ever. However, I have quite a flat stomach. I also have wide hips and short stocky legs. My jeans are usually too long or too tight around the waist and let's face it; who enjoys jeans shopping? Let me tell you..no matter how nice the jeans are; you will never enjoy it! My personal shopper suggested I try Joni jeans because I was looking for a high waisted pair. As soon as I stepped my foot into them, I fell flat on my face. They were way to skinny minnie for me. Then, she brought me 2 pairs of the Jamie jeans. At first, they were super comfy and stretchy..exactly what I look for in jeans! They were really flattering and I fell in love! I purchased 3 and 4 on the set above. First pair is a blue black that is stunning! And then just a standard staple black pair.
Now after having the 2 pairs for a month, I have one word for you; stretch. As much as I love comfortable jeans, I would also enjoy if they would stay on my body! After about an hour of wearing these jeans, they're sagging and falling right off me. Maybe I need a smaller size, but who knows. I don't fully recommend these jeans because although they are super comfy, they're not worth 60$ to have them falling off of me.
However, I 150% recommend their Leigh Jeans. I purchased one pair whilst I was at Topshop and have nothing bad to say about them.Jamie Jean review

Meet the blogger

As you all know, winter is approaching fast. Especially in New York. One of my all time favorite trends this A|W season has been tartan. This scarf just came in the mail today and I'm absolutely obsessed! It's comfy and it actually keeps me warm, oh and obviously it's very "stylish." Since the pattern is quite busy, I paired it with a simple jumper...which also came in the mail today. *Thank you ASOS* The jumper has the cutest little star elbow pads on it. Then to top it off I just wore my favorite Topshop jeans and boots that I cannot get enough of!
