Dressing Table | Essentials

If you read my last post, you would know that I got a beautiful refurbished Canon camera for Christmas. (Thanks mommy) I haven't left my house much yet since Christmas day but I've been really eager to take pictures with my new toy. I decided to make a post of all the essential items kept on my dressing table. Be sure to expect a lot of artsy, fartsy, photography pictures in the future as well :-)
Makeup Storage is so important to me now that I actually like to invest in nice makeup and I sort-of know what I am doing. I got these clear draws from Amazon - link in my last post. My makeup brushes are held in a mason jar to keep with the transparent storage theme. Also, I have threeroll on Victoria Secret perfumes (Angel, Heavenly and Bombshell- all smell amazing) in a glass holder from Michaels.

I cannot stress enough how important it is to put moisturizer on. I usually apply it twice a day - once before I apply my make up and then right before bed. I would say Cocoa Butter is like a moisturizer for your lips. I put this on constantly throughout the day but I do make sure that while I'm applying my make up I smother my lips in Cocoa butter so that they stay smooth and hydrated. Behind the two medium sized bottles is a bottle of Johnson's baby lotion which I definitely recommend. It's made for babies so it works really nice of you have sensitive skin like me.

As of right now, these are my go-to smells. They are both very new to me. I was using Alien for about 5 years when I decided that I needed a new signature scent. The Chloe perfume is a christmas present that I picked out for myself and I'm still getting used to it. It's a really sophisticated smell, it has undertones of rose, amber and honey. I do love it but it is pretty floraly which I do not usually go for. The Calvin Klein one is something my mom used to wear. She gave it to me because I was complaining about how I had no light, day-time smells. It smells nice but it's not something I would pick out for myself.

If you have not picked up Aziz Ansari's book Modern Romance, then what are you doing with your life? It's hysterical - although I am only on page 45. It's a perfect mixture of romance, comedy and research. Beside this book is my favorite thing, my Fujifilm polaroid camera. This camera is great for capturing moments quickly and being able to have them printed on the spot. I love to take pictures of me and my friends with this camera and hang the polaroids around my room. Also, it makes a great present!

So I know this is a different type of post but I hope you guys enjoyed it! If you would like to see more stuff like this, please let me know in the comments - Don't be shy!!

Christmas | Home

This Christmas, I decided to be a lot more prepared than I was for last Christmas. I did my research and came up with a humble list of presents I would be more than happy to receive (Which I emailed to my mom at 1 am because what else am I doing at 1 am?). I have to say, I am super thankful and beyond happy with the gifts I got this year. I'll start with my wishlist then I'll show you guys a couple of the other things my mom surprised me with!

Wishlist
- LAHearts (not available) & Me To Shirt
(I got it in black but it is only available in mauve now)
And plot twist: My amazing mom actually got me everything on my list! (Thanks mommy!)

And then to add to my happiness she surprised me with a refurbished Canon that is absolutely amazing which I cannot wait to take pictures for the blog with! She also accidentally ordered the wrong color MAC lipstick at first so she ended up giving me two. I can't remember the exact name of the color right now but it's a red-ish pink (so cute). Also, a macaron making set!!! So excited about that, hopefully I can make them taste just as good as Laudreè but probably not.
This Christmas was honestly so nice and just reminded me of how blessed I am to have the family that I have. I love them so much. I hope all of your holidays were filled with joy and love.
*Disclaimer: None of this is meant to be taken
as bragging. This post is just because I know
how fun it is to be nosy and to see what other people
got for Christmas. I am very grateful for my family and
the gifts I received this Christmas.
Also my brother and my mom and I thought it would be hysterical to buy the whole family onesies so we could open our presents and spend Christmas morning in them together. So enjoy this nice picture of my brother and I in our onesies...

Happy Holidays!

Burrito Saturday | Part 2

This has become sort of a tradition...my roommates and I planned to start going to this Mexican restaurant called Blockheads every Saturday that we are able to drag our sorry (most likely hungover) butts to the city. This Saturday we also decided that in the spirit of the upcoming holiday season, we should try and make our way to Rockefeller Center to see the big tree they decorate every year. Don't get me wrong, I hate Times Square and generally any other touristy area in NYC just as much as the next person but I cannot help myself when it comes to Christmas. If you've ever heard the saying "there's nothing like Christmas in New York" that's because it is 100% true - there is nothing like Christmas in New York. Last night, I went to see the tree for the second time and this time I caught the Saks building light show, it was amazing. So after we stuffed ourselves with $9 burritos and margaritas  (shoutout to our waiter Dexter who bought us some after the first round ps- we still need to find him a Christmas present girls) we headed down to Rockefeller Center. Tara also brought her Sony Cybershot HD and we took a few pictures while walking around the city.

*Thanks to Tara for taking these pictures!*
Sadly, next week marks the beginning of finals week so I most likely
won't be updating my blog for a little bit. I'll be home for 5 weeks so
there won't be much content to fill my blog with. Tonight is the
Victoria Secret Fashion Show and I am most definitely posting
about my favorite looks sometime this week. Maybe I'll do a what
I got for Christmas post? Not sure yet. I'll keep everyone updated!

Inspo | Obsessed

This is a new type of post for me...it's some photos I've stocked up on my iPhoto over the past couple of months. These are photos of celebrities or just people I have seen pop up on my dashboard on Tumblr. I always look to other women for inspiration. Most of my daily outfits incorporate something I've seen on someone else. It's a great way to change things up and feel fresh in the same clothes.
Miss Gigi Hadid rocking a sweater midi dress and the cutest lilac adidas sneaks. Her messy braid really adds to the look as well!

One word for this coat. NEED. This is the most essential item in a girls closet. This coat can be dressed up or dressed down. I love how this girl styled it with slightly ripped girlfriend jeans, ankle strap pointy toes and a simple white t-shirt. Her sunnies are also super cute! I have yet to find my neutral colored midi coat but if this one showed up at my door, I would not say no!

Tying shirts that are a little oversized makes for a effortless crop top. I do this with some of my shirts when I'm feeling a little risky and I wanna show skin - great way to change up a simple t-shirt!
Another outfit by my girl, Gigi. She does street style the best in my opinion. A leather jacket is another amazing trend that will hopefully never go out of style. The cut of her jeans allow for her to show some skin between her pants and her sneakers. These sneakers are so great, I have them in white. They feel like you are walking on a cloud. And who doesn't love a great pair of all black comfy and fashionable shoes?
Girl, you are ROCKING the flared pants look. This is what I call business casual. She pairs an oversized bag with a look that is so simple yet so daring because of the angles her blazer and pant combo creates.
I always say if you're having a bad hair day, it's nothing a yankee cap can't fix! Her oversized bomber jacket is so cute and adds to her laid back look.

Please someone tell me who made the rule that says you can't wear white after labor day? Girl, bye! One color outfits are so cute and a great way to stand out. The day after I saw this picture, I went out and bought the same hat in black because black is the new black. And let's be real, her sneakers are perfect. You can never go wrong with Adidas.
My biggest inspiration - Olivia Palermo slaying at NYFW.
She accessorized her perfectly tailored ensemble
with cat eye sunnies and pointed toe pumps.
Ken Jen - another big inspo absolutely killing the street style game. I love the mix of neutral colors and her longline vest really adds a nice longline silhouette.
Don't know who this girl is but damn
can she rock ankle grazed jeans...
Red lipstick, coffee, camel & black. Enough said.
Another Jenner to influence me...
One of my favorite summer looks. Kylie shows off her amazing figure in a tight midi tank dress. Now, usually I am not the first person to pick out a tight dress
but everyone could use a black midi in their wardrobe. To my surprise, she
cuts off her dress with lace up booties that cut right below
the knee. She pulls this look off because lets face it, she's
Kylie Jenner and she can pull anything off.
Over the knee, over the knee!!!! If there is one thing every girl should invest in, it's a good pair of over the knee boots. These are to die for! Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
pairs hers with a black mini which shows off her killer legs. Rosie is bae.

Fika

So guys this is my last overload post! A couple days ago, my roommates and I wanted to check out this coffee place called Fika. Fika is a swedish coffee company known for their delicious coffee and their signature chokladboll, which is a swedish pastry. They were AMAZING. I didn't take any pictures because I was too excited and devoured it in a matter of seconds. (Hey there just little tiny balls, ok?) But we did happen to take pictures of our outfits...

Can I get this tattooed on my forehead?

Galli | Soho Slumpin

So this is an exciting post...I met Hailey Baldwin. She is a total babe. She was nice although we didn't really have a chance to talk to her since she was finishing her meal at her rumored favorite restaurant in Soho, Galli. She was leaving and I had to stop her because she has been a huge fashion influence for me. She rocks so many different looks and I love that about her.
Don't mind my (too happy) face
Inside Galli, delicious food btw! I got the Penne Al Vodka.
My roomie looking fierce AF in Topshop.
Peep her cute shoes!!
Add me on snapchat for more sarcasm - meest
B&W
Shoe game strong?
Shoes: Steve Madden
Also, really quick - lets talk about shoes, baby. (Bad song reference?) These bad boys only cost my $40 from Aldo! I had my eye on them for SOooo long and they finally went on sale! They were originally $90. To be honest, they're not horribly uncomfortable, but they're definitely not my first shoe choice. I can wear these for about 3 hours until my feet start to regret my choice in footwear.
And I leave you off with a picture of me and all my beautiful roommates from our first night together!

Burrito Saturday

Last week, my roommates and I decided to drag all of our hungover butts to get burritos on 108th street. We went to a place called Blockheads and let me tell you, they were some good burritos. It is so hard to keep up with NYC food prices while being a college student. I can barely afford to go out on the weekends at night, let alone in the daytime. Thank god for Blockheads and their 9$ burritos and 6$ margaritas. Here are some pics we took during our trip!
Mixtape dropping soon...
Jacket: ASOS
Jeans: Topshop
Turtleneck: Forever 21
Shoes: Steve Madden
Looking way to excited to shove that burrito in my mouth...

Vampin' | Halloween Edition

If you do not already know, my birthday is on October 29th. Ever since I was young, every birthday party I have ever had has been Halloween themed, which is only fair considering Halloween is two days away from my birthday. Thank god this year my birthday fell on Thursday so it was Halloween on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I'll be honest...I haven't always loved Halloween. When I was little, I used to get terrified around August because I knew in three months my parents would force me to go to this haunted hay ride. I used to cry like a baby up until I was maybe 10. I was still petrified, I just learned how to hide it better. I am still not a huge fan of being scared, however, I LOVE Halloween. I love the concept of pretending to be something you're not for an entire day and the best part; free candy!! I have the biggest sweet tooth and it sucks growing up and not being able to go trick-or-treating. This year my roommates and I decided to do group costumes as we cannot do anything without each other. (Just kidding!) But we had a blast picking out our costumes and putting our own little twist on them. And just so you know, in college, if you're lucky and Halloween falls on a weekend, you have what we like to call "Halloweekend."
Vampire look
Dress: Asos
Jacket: Zara
Boots: Steve Madden
Choker & Fishnets: Party City
Head piece: H&M

How cool did our makeup look?!
Lip Color: Stone by MAC
Our friend Nicolette as vampire bunny thingy...she looked amazing! (Peep her makeup! I did that )
Roomie slaying as always!! Also did her makeup
The second night Nicolette improvised with a VS satin robe
and decided to be a Geisha. She killed it.
So this costume took a little work. We waited of course until the day we had to wear these to make our shirts. We bought felt and superglued the pieces individually. Let me tell you, harder than you think. I re-did mine 3 times!
And this was Tara's final costume as Heromine Granger from Harry Potter...she looked amazing.
